WGA Awards 2025: Celebrating Excellence in Screenwriting

The 77th Writers Guild Awards are recognizing exceptional talent in film, TV, and new media with live ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York. The WGA is also bestowing special honors tonight, including a Laurel Award for Screenwriting Achievement to the late David Lynch and the Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award to Vince Gilligan of \’Breaking Bad\’. RaMell Ross and Joslyn Barnes are set to receive the Paul Selvin Award for their work on \’Nickel Boys\’.

The eligibility rules of the WGA Awards often exclude several acclaimed films, which could lead to omissions like \”Conclave\” and \”Inside Out 2\”. This year’s contenders have faced similar limitations, impacting their chance at recognition.
